5 Top Men’s Skin Care Products

In this article I’m going to be telling you about top skin care products from the most popular men’s skincare brands.

In the past, I have not had the best opinion of men skincare brands, but over time, I’ve actually seen a lot of them come out with really good formulas.

Instead of doing individual brand dedicated reviews, I’m just going to tell you the best of the best.

I’m going to be telling you about some of the best products from brands like Bull Dog, Dollar Shave Club, Lumin, and more.

These are typically brands that are really popular among men. I know online, there’s not a lot of content specifically focused on men’s skincare. So I thought I’d take a moment and just introduce you to some good products from these brands.

I’m just going to be talking product recommendations. I spent a lot of time looking through all the products from each of these brands and figuring out what the best of the best products are.

There’s cleansers, moisturizers, eye cream, sunscreens. We got it all here.

top men's skin care products

Bull Dog

And I want to start with a really popular company called Bull Dog. It’s a really popular drug store skincare brand.

I found two products that I really liked from this brand and they’re at a really good price point.

The first product I recommend is their Sensitive Skin Moisturizer.

The Bull Dog Sensitive Skin Moisturizer has great ingredients, like caprylic triglyceride and glycerin, which are going to be able to help give a nice nourishing base to the moisturizer and hydrate the skin.

It also has really good ingredients like oat kernel oil, which is great for sensitive skin and for helping to protect and strengthen the moisture barrier, which is great, especially for men skin care, because a lot of men’s skin care products tend to be really stripping, really strong, overly intense on the skin. And this is just great for making sure that your moisture barrier is healthy.

It also has willow herb extract, which is a natural form of salicylic acid, which is great for helping to exfoliate deeply in the pores. With this specific ingredient, it’s a little bit more gentle on the skin.

It also has really interesting ingredients like konjac root extract and Baobab seed oil, which I don’t oftentimes see in products, which are going to be great for supporting the health of the skin and ensuring that your skin stays hydrated.

Honestly for ten dollars this is a really good ingredient list and one of the most affordable products I think on this entire list and great if you’re wanting an introduction into skincare.

The other product from Bull Dog that I like is their Sensitive Face Wash.

When it comes to looking for men’s face washes, it is a horror movie. So many cleansers for men are so stripping and so irritating.

I get it that sometimes men skin can produce more sebum and oil than other gender’s skin, but I still don’t see that as an excuse to potentially over-strip the moisture barrier and cause any sensitivity in the skin.

Men don’t need to use these really harsh, really strong cleansers.

A lot of times people don’t realize that cleansing can be the most damaging part of your skincare routine. So you want to be careful about what cleanser you’re using.

And I really liked the ingredient list of this one.

It has gentle surfactants or cleansing agents to make sure that it doesn’t overly strip the skin and it’s formulated with those same other great ingredients in the moisturizer to help strengthen and protect the moisture barrier.

It’s 7 dollars, so really, really affordable.

And by no means am I saying that more affordable skincare is better than more expensive skincare because it really just comes down to the ingredient list.

But if you’re someone who is just starting into skincare, I think this is a really great option to choose.

Next up is probably the most requested men’s skincare brand, Lumin.

Lumin is really, really popular and they’ve actually sent me their products before, so I’ve been able to try them out.

And while a lot of their products don’t necessarily directly align with my personal skincare philosophy, there are a few good ones.

The UV Defense Moisturizing Balm.

I like this one because it primarily relies on zinc oxide, which is the best sunscreen ingredients out there, which is really the best sunscreen ingredient for people who have really sensitive skin.

And overall just does a really good job at protecting your skin from the sun.

It also has ingredients like jojoba oil, which is great for moisturizing the skin, but not in a way that feels heavy or greasy.

Rosemary extract, not to be confused with rosemary oil, which is an essential oil. Rosemary extract is great for its antioxidant abilities.

It also has papaya extract, which is good for a very mild, very gentle exfoliating experience, but not in a way that exfoliates your skin so much that it makes it sensitive to the sun. As well as the peptide complex.

If you didn’t know, sunscreen is the most important part of your skincare routine. So if you are brand new to skincare and you’re just starting out, I highly recommend using a sunscreen.

And this is a great example of one that does have a sun protection filter.

A lot of Lumin products I’ve seen do contain a lot of fragrance, but I was really impressed by the ingredient list. I hope they release more formulas like this in the future.

Jack Black

This is a little bit more of a luxury skincare brand for men. I’ve primarily seen it at Sephora. And I personally like their oil free moisturizer.

It has a silicone, cyclopentasiloxane, which is a good silicone for sealing in the skin and
preventing moisture loss, but does a great job at making sure your skin doesn’t become oily or shiny, which is really nice if you’re someone who has oily skin, as well as niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate, white tea extract, a great antioxidant, and sea kelp.

Sea kelp is great for boosting hydration within the skin, as well as some benefits for reducing sensitivity.

Jack Black overall is not one of those brands that I necessarily recommend, but out of all their products, I do think this is the best one.

Next up is a brand called Geologie.

Geologie does a good job of really simplifying a skincare routine, but they had one product that I was really impressed by: their eye cream.

Now in terms of eye creams, this one is a little bit more on the intense side of eye creams. It has some bomb ingredients.

It has coffee seed oil, which is great for helping to awaken the under eye area, has similar benefits to caffeine. It has shea butter, which is great for really moisturizing the under eye area as well.

It has glycerin niacinamide. It also has kojic acid, an ingredient that I oftentimes don’t find in a lot of products, but it’s great for its antioxidant properties and its ability to help fade dark spots and hyperpigmentation.

I don’t find it super often in an eye cream, and sometimes I’m a little bit skeptical because when it’s exposed to air and light, it can become a little bit unstable. However, in this formula it is an air free container. And so minimizes that risk.

It also has sodium hyaluronate and gluconolactone, which is an exfoliating ingredient that I really like. It’s very gentle and at the concentration that they use, it’s very, very minimal. So you won’t see a lot of irritation.

And that’s why I say this is a little bit more of an ambitious eye cream, but sometimes having a chance to exfoliate on the under eye area can help, especially if you’re more prone to getting milia, those bumps on the under eye area, and it’s great for ensuring that your under eye area gets some treatment.

Dollar Shave Club

There are two primary prodcuts that I recommend.

First their Acne Eraser. This is a spot treatment with 2 percent salicylic acid, which is the maximum percentage that you can get in an over-the-counter product.

Salicylic acid being my personal favorite ingredient for helping with acne and breakouts and to exfoliate the skin. But this also has other ingredients, like magnesium aluminum silicate, which is great for helping to control excess sebum and pull impurities from out of your skin.

It has shea butter and jojoba oil, which is great cause it’s going to make sure that the area doesn’t get too dry it out by the salicylic acid and magnesium aluminum silicate.

My one complaint about this product is that it does include menthol, which can be irritating on the skin. So proceed with caution if you do have really sensitive skin,

And then I also really liked their Age-defying Moisturizers.

The ingredient list has shea butter, it has glycerin, it has niacinamide, and sodium hyaluronate, all great for hydrating and moisturizing the skin.

Those are all top the brands and products I want to talk about.

I’ve looked through three times as many brands than I was talking about here, but there’s just a lot of them out there where I didn’t either agree with the ingredients that they used or I didn’t agree with the type of messaging that they promote.

Cause it’s one thing to promote skincare for men, but it’s kind of a whole another thing to make it feel like overly aggressive and almost superior.

But I hope you found some good ones out of this list.

Remember that skincare is for everyone. Just because it’s not marketed towards men, doesn’t mean that men can’t benefit from it.

There are so many incredible skincare products out there and you don’t have to limit yourself to skincare that is only marketed specifically towards men.
